Many years ago, at the beginning of our very difficult divorce, I would tell my boys, “We can trust God, even when life doesn’t make sense.” Each time we found a penny on the ground, after picking it up, I would remind them of the comforting words on the front, “In God We Trust.” We would stop whatever we were doing and everyone had to share what one thing they were entrusting to God. This simple act helped to remind us of God’s presence and to keep our focus on Him.

Recently, someone very dear to me was struggling to hang on to hope and I did not know how to help him. My sleep was not restful as I talked to God throughout the night. Before I knew it, morning came and it was time to face the day.

When I arrived at work, I was running a little late and in a hurry to get inside. As I opened my door, right where I parked there was a splattering of coins! Every one cried out of trusting in God! (48 of them to be exact) Trusting Him with my past! Trusting Him with my present! Trusting Him with my future! Trusting Him with those I love! God wanted to remind me – in a big way – that I can still trust Him!!!

I pray God splatters your path with pennies right when you need it! Stop and acknowledge what you are entrusting to Him! And thank Him in advance for His loving hand at work in that area. He is trustworthy, even when life doesn’t make sense!
